Background: Today, Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) has killed thousands of people worldwide. Home quarantine is one strategy for COVID-19 patients with mild symptoms; but those in home quarantine may not have enough information for self-care. 
Objective: The present study aims to investigate the effect of telenursing education on the comfort of patients with COVID-19 in home quarantine.
Methods: In this quasi-experimental study, 60 patients with COVID-19 (30 in the intervention group and 30 in the control group) who were randomly selected from among those referred to Bank Melli Iran Hospital in Tehran, Iran. Patients in the intervention group received self-care education by telephone at six sessions. The Kolcaba’s General Comfort Questionnaire (GCQ) was used to assess the comfort of patients. The questionnaire was completed before and 21 days after the intervention. The collected data were analyzed in SPSS software. Significance level was set at P<0.05.
Findings: After telenursing education, the mean GCQ score in the intervention group did not increase significantly compared to the control group (P=‌0.93). Moreover, the mean posttest score of GCQ in the intervention group showed no significant increase compared to the pretest score (P=‌0.08).
Conclusion: Telenursing education is not effective in increasing the comfort of patients with COVID-19 in home quarantine.
