Novin Family Medicine Journal is a research journal of Bank Melli Iran School of Nursing, which has been published since 2021 to improve the knowledge, attitude, and practice of the medical department to better manage issues threatening public health. This goal could be achieved by publishing research articles under the supervision of its editor and editorial board. Paying attention to the following points will speed up the acceptance of articles and their timely publication:
1. Original research articles, case reports /series are published in this journal.
2. Review and meta-analysis articles prepared as per the recommendation of the editor and the executive editorial board will be printable.
3. The submitted article should not have been previously published elsewhere. Moreover, the author is responsible for not submitting it to other journals until receiving the final decision from the journal.
4. The full text of the article (numbers, tables, and graphs) should be prepared using the latest version of Word software as well as Nazanin 14 font for Persian content and 14 Times font for English content. It is mandatory to provide an English abstract per the Persian manuscript as well as the specific code of the ethics obtained by the relevant committee for all articles.
5. The drafting of the articles in this journal should be based on the principles of writing biomedical articles, approved by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors in Vancouver, Canada.
-How to present the text of the article:
A) First page: The first page includes the complete title of the article, the name of the author or authors (the name of the corresponding author should be underlined), academic degree, academic position, and place of work (ward or hospital, college, university, city) as well as postal address and e-mail, phone, and fax numbers. This page must be signed by all the authors of the article.
B) Article abstract: The abstract of the article should be a maximum of 250 words and should contain separate sections of background and purposes, materials and methods, results, conclusion, and suggestions. At the end of the abstract, it is necessary to mention three to five keywords that match the text. The abstract of the article should be drafted and provided on separate pages in both Persian and English.
C) Text: The text of the article includes introduction (maximum 650 words), materials and methods, results, discussion, and acknowledgments (if necessary). The exact placement of the tables, charts, figures, and images should be indicated on the text pages. The number of pages of the text should not exceed 10 pages of 18 typed lines. The source number should be used in the text in order and given in parentheses.
D) Tables and charts: Tables and charts should each be prepared and submitted on a separate page. The number of tables and graphs should be commensurate with the size of the article. Avoid presenting tables and graphs whose information and data are fully referenced in the text of the article. Tables should have a full title and be typed like the original text with the latest version of Word software and in Persian digits. Charts should also have full titles and generated using the latest version of Microsoft Excel software.
E) Images: The submitted photos should be provided in black and white. The dimensions of each photo should not exceed 11 by 20 cm. In the case of photographs captured of patients, it is mandatory to cover the sections identifying the patient’s consent. Photos must be original and photocopies; low-quality photos must be avoided.
6. Method of writing the list of sources: The references used in the article should be listed according to the Vancouver and the Tehran Treaty styles. Further information is available at If the number of authors of the article equals less than 6, the names of all authors should be announced. If there are more than 6 authors, similar to the above-mentioned method, after entering the name of the sixth author, use the phrase “et al.” (meaning "and others"). If only a summary of the article was used, the phrase abstract should be provided at the end of the reference.

-Journal article:
 The surname of the author (s), the first letter of the author’s name (s), the full title of the article, abbreviated name of the journal, year of publication, (volume), journal number, page number, the name of the first 6 authors are written first and if the number of authors exceeds 6 individuals, the word “et al.” is mentioned. Only the first word of the title and the words that are normally capitalized should be written in capital. If the article is a citation from a Persian publication, it is necessary to enter the details of the article in English by referring to the English abstract of the Persian article. At the end of the article specifications, insert the phrase (Full Text in Persian) in parentheses.

If you use a book in Persian, it is necessary to enter its specifications in English (usually, the English specifications of Persian books are inserted on the back cover of the book). At the end of the book specifications, insert the phrase (Text in Persian) in parentheses.

Book chapter:
First, the names of the authors of that chapter, and then the title of the chapter is written, then the word in: and the name of the book editor, then the title of the book and place of publication, publisher, year, and page number are given (if there is a publication number, mention it after the book name).

It is necessary to enter the details of the Persian dissertation, similar to the above-mentioned example, in English. At the end of the dissertation details, insert the phrase (Text in Persian) in parentheses.
- Conference paper:
The names of the presenters of the paper, the title of the paper, then the word: the names of the authors of the conference book and the academic editors, and then the name of the congress and the year and month of the day and the venue of the conference. Next, place of publication, publisher, year, and the page used.
If the source used is government publications or government agencies, the name of the organization or government, published title, place, and year are written.
